Summary
SNAI designed and installed the AC power distribution system for multiple new assembly lines at their customer’s plant expansion project.
Details
The scope of SNAI’s power distribution work began at the main switch gear of the facility, and included establishing the specifications for over (20) 208-volt and 480-volt distribution systems. In addition, SNAI was responsible for the design of the overhead cable tray layout, distribution panel & breakers specification, and termination to over (100) industrial machines and receptacles.
SNAI designed a power distribution system that handled the load required to power the assembly lines, and provided a buffer for future expansion. Using the load calculations, the size and amount of cable, and the size and capacity of all terminating hardware was determined.
The cable tray and its supporting infrastructure were designed to handle the weight of the cable being routed. The cable tray layout was designed to provide the optimum path to each end device, working around other facilities infrastructure such as HVAC and lighting.
SNAI managed local installation contractors to install all cable tray, cables, distribution panels, and terminations to equipment. Ultimately, the Power Distribution was completed within schedule and within budget.
